Good News, Bad News

Good news: one of my parents' neighbors has the same machine I'm getting.   So he gave me several tips, including where to buy some 14% butterfat mix.

Bad news: I called about the mix and it comes in chocolate or vanilla.  No "sweet cream."

The Inspiration: Steve's and Stevens

I ordered a White Mountain 6-qt ice cream machine today.  It should arrive by UPS on Friday.  My intention is to recreate some of the old Steve's Ice Cream recipes my father has.  He franchised Steve Harrel's famous ice cream parlors in the 80s, bringing Boston's most beloved scoops to Boulder, Colorado, and later to Denver, Salt Lake City, and Provo.
